- Donovan Mixon - The Hybrid
Project

The Hybrid Project is an acoustic
musical group based on the compositions and arrangements of guitarist
Donovan Mixon.
His is a highly eclectic collection of pieces that
combines elements of modern jazz with those of classical and Turkish
music. At times the music is through composed and other times free and
open for group improvisation. Sometimes it is possible to hear an
improvised solo on a specific group of chord changes while in some
pieces improvisation plays no part on the arrangement.
The group, which is composed of an international cast of musicians,
features an unusual instrumentation that is largely responsible for its
unique sound.
